practicing hypnotherapist must provide treatment consistent with a diligent
duty of care within their knowledge, competence and experience. They
must never misrepresent or misinterpret their work as medical in nature or
misrepresent their training as medical training unless they hold such
medical qualifications.

Practicing therapist shall at all times conduct him or herself in a
professional manner.

Therapists
shall recommend, where the clients' condition is suspected to have a
physical basis or cause, that the client seeks medical advice first.
Therapists should never make any exaggerated claims to cure any person
during any form of treatment.

Therapists
shall at all times maintain strict confidentiality during and after
treatment.

Therapists
must work with the clients best interest in mind.

Therapists
must obtain permission form the client before using audio or video to record
any part of a therapeutic session.

Therapists
must take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of the client and those
accompanying them.

No
therapist shall work whilst he or she is suffering from any form of severe
emotional disorder that could impair their judgment during therapeutic work,
for example psychosis or severe depression.

Therapists
must ensure those rooms and other facilities to be used for hypnotherapy
and/or associated practices are suitable for such purpose.

Therapists
must not in any way discriminate any other form of alternative or medical
practice.

Therapists
to be aware when working with clients of the opposite sex to either record
such sessions or have a third party sitting in on the therapeutic session.
